Hybrid role – home based, with a preference for candidates located near one of our offices in Bristol, London or Staines.
The Role
A commercially focused and trusted adviser, this role will lead change and transformation across Bupa Dental Care, providing strategic HR partnering to senior leaders within the Dental Support Functions. Acting as a positive disrupter, the role builds strong relationships quickly to accelerate plans that meet ambitious business needs and mobilises change effectively.
Operating within a complex, matrix support function organisation, the role provides strong people leadership and guidance, driving change to continue raising performance standards. It leads the people approach across Support Functions, ensuring the organisation is future‑fit to deliver the business strategy and longer‑term goals.
A builder of systems that improve ways of working, the role leads people support across run and cyclical activities, ensuring efficient and effective delivery, continuous improvement, and increased manager capability.
What will I be doing?
- In partnership with the Head of People and Centres of Excellence, develop the people strategy for Support Functions, with a clear plan for delivery and implementation aligned to business strategy and performance outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members of the Dental Executive team and their leadership teams. Act as the senior point of HR expertise in support of the business strategy and people plan, proactively identifying people risks and opportunities, and acting as a conduit to specialist and delivery People team services.
- Lead the standard approach to people change across Bupa Dental Care (from low to high complexity) and manage the people change project portfolio through effective planning, resourcing, and delivery.
- Lead and develop a pool of People Partners, with a strong focus on improving manager capability across the business and driving continuous improvement across all run activities.
- Partner with the leadership team to build a learning and high‑performance culture through capability development, continuous learning, and ensuring the business is future‑fit.
- Work closely with business leadership to develop and deliver plans that promote a highly inclusive and engaged workforce.
- Lead or contribute to pan‑Bupa Dental Care or wider Bupa Market Unit projects, working closely with the Head of People and People Director as appropriate.
Skills/Experience
- Leading Change: Track record and delivery in a context of transformation and growth, experience of leading a program approach to organisational change effectively in a complex environment.
- Commercial Acumen: Understands the commercial aspects of the business and how to develop a holistic people plan that will support and enhance business performance.
- Partnering: Must have worked in a senior HR role within a within a corporate environment supporting professional functions.
- Strategic/Design Thinking: Proven ability to develop systems and design/implement people strategies that align with business goals and drive performance improvement. Creates consistency in approach.
- Cross team Collaboration: Strong track record and experience of collaborating with / leveraging all aspects of HR e.g. recruitment, reward, engagement, talent, development etc to improve business performance on a sustainable basis.
- Leadership & Influencing: experience of a partnering and influencing senior leaders to achieve business objectives and improve performance.
- Generalist HR experience gained within a relevant market and/or industry – exposure to a Healthcare/Retail/Hospitality/Consumer led environment would be hugely beneficial.
