Dental Decontamination Assistant
Location: Bupa Dental Care, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:30 (Full-time, 4 days/week)
Bupa Dental Care is looking for a Dental Decontamination Assistant to join our professional and friendly team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a key support role within our practice, ensuring all instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilised, and maintained to the highest standard.
What you’ll do:

Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments and equipment

Ensure compliance with all cross-infection control procedures

Maintain a clean and organised decontamination room

Follow strict safety and hygiene protocols

Support clinical staff with equipment preparation and availability
What we’re looking for:

A strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately

A team player with good communication skills
-
Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided

Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control

Your opportunity
- Providing fully sterilised equipment that is compliant to practice policies, procedures and the HTM01-05 guidelines (which we’ll give you full training on)
- Providing excellent patient care
- Setting up decontamination of instruments
- Ensuring Care Quality Commission requirements are met (we’ll train you in these too).

- Hard working and a strong team player
- Comfortable managing your own workload
- Strong communication skills
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential
