    Finance Business Partner - People Costs

    Hybrid role (Bristol Support Centre/ Manchester Bupa Place/ London Angel Court/ Leeds Kirkstall Forge) 

    The Role

    To focus on analysing practice staff costs, with the aim to improve clinician, nurse and practice admin staff expenses as a percentage of revenue.

    Accountabilities / Responsibilities

    • Use Financial modelling to guide recruitment as to what contracts should be offered to clinician vacancies; with the view to ensure practices keep costs aligned to AOP targets. 
    • Utilise a clinician profitability model to determine which contracts are not commercially viable and require renegotiation. The model is also to be used to track clinician outliers that require further investigations.
    • Assess country specific clinician contracts.
    • Be the financial gatekeeper for reviewing recruitment requests for practice employed staff vacancies, such as for nurse and admin staff.
    • Analyse key trends for People costs at practice, providing monthly insight on employed practice staff such as FTE data, agency spend & overtime.
    • Evaluate self-employed staff spend, such as dentist, hygienist and therapist margins, and produce monthly slides for key findings, which can be presented to senior management.
    • Provide support with the annual practice level budgets, specifically focusing on Associate, Hygienist and Therapist and Practice Staff costs, challenging assumptions, FTE requirements and consider opportunities in order to deliver business objectives.
    • Manage specific People cost projects, providing regular updates as to progress achieved and ensuring we implement the changes required.
    • Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Finance.


    Qualifications/Experience
    • Qualified/ Part Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/ AAT)
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Advanced Excel and data review skills (modelling, pivot tables)
    • PowerPoint and presentational skills
    • Comfortable explaining finance concepts to non-finance people and building strong working 
    relationships
    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects at the same time
    • Proactive and curious nature, seeking to understand the ‘why’ and challenge the status quo. 
    Desirable but not essential:
    • Previous experience of working in a business partnering role/ strong understanding of the Dental 
    business.
