    Permanent | Full-time
    Hybrid role – primarily remote with one day a month in our Bristol office

    We are seeking a Product Owner to collaborate closely with all required business stakeholders, shaping and delivering our Dentally product roadmap, with the ability to take on work to deliver product capabilities and services beyond this remit when required.

    How you’ll help us make health happen:

    • Lead the creation of datasets, working with technical and business teams to ensure they are easy to understand and reusable across all BDC teams.
    • Own the product strategy, roadmap and execution of Dentally (including Stakeholder, Product Owner, User, Technical Delivery and Business Information Services elements).
    • Chair and coordinate one or more working groups, ensuring the right business and technical stakeholders are involved in key decisions.
    • Lead the creation, governance and management of data models.
    • Identify, clarify and document data model entities and their business data definitions.
    • Develop a value‑led backlog for teams building datasets, documenting and explaining requirements using Epics, Feature Product Backlog Items and acceptance criteria.
    • Build strong relationships with other areas of Bupa Dental Care crucial to delivering our products and services.
    • Contribute actively to the development of product management best practice and the department’s collaborative culture.
    • Establish processes to support requirements gathering and stakeholder acceptance, including coffee‑shop testing, user acceptance and reviews.
    • Implement robust change processes to assess the impact of new features on existing business processes and minimise issues.
    • Develop and deliver the product vision for Dentally Products and Services, aligned to BDC strategy and objectives.
    • Communicate product strategy, roadmap and deliverables regularly to internal customers, clearly explaining the “so what?” and addressing concerns and feedback.
    • Take a proactive approach to your own continuous professional development.

    Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

    Essential

    • Experience with managing the development and delivery of established product and new product development
    • Understanding of Clinical and Operational best-practice, user testing, analytics and translating requirements into features
    • Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs to measure value delivered
    • Excellent team player who can establish effective working relationships at all levels within the business
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver in complex and political environments
    • Able to  understand requirements of other IT stakeholders and working with them create Product Backlog Items that are fully understood, refined and prioritised for subsequent development, to support the creation of their own products
    • Proactive, self-learner, organised, and able to prioritise work in an agile, fast-moving environment
    • Ability to embrace change and be positive in approach to challenges by adjusting work priorities and influencing others to do the same
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop clear insights for the business

    Highly Desirable

    • Experience of Practice Management Systems in a Dental setting
    • Experience of project management methods e.g. agile, waterfall, Scrum etc
    • Experience of working in an agile teams
    • Commercial experience in a related sector (e.g. insurance, healthcare) or function (e.g. marketing)
