Permanent, Full-time
Hybrid working – Based at either our Bristol Support Centre or Bupa Place, Manchester, with 1–2 days per week in the office
The Role
The Senior Management Accountant – Support Centre forms part of the Financial Control team within the wider Bupa Dental (BDC) Finance function. The purpose of this role is to manage the Support Centre cost base ensuring all costs are reported in line accounting principles and standards and all variances to plan are understood. To manage the month end, latest forecast and annual Planning process and develop and deliver a suite of reporting for the Dental Executive Team functional areas. To also assist with external and internal audits where required. The role will also oversee the work providing professional advice and guidance to one management accountant.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure month end tasks are completed within the agreed timetable, this includes managing risks and opportunities and full explanation of variance analysis.
· Ensure all actuals are reported correctly in the local ledgers and management reporting tool.
· Advise, Review and Challenge the work of one management accountant.
· To reconcile and review balance sheet accounts and follow up on any issues/ queries raised.
· To assist with the year-end audit, with particular focus on accruals and prepayments.
· To assist with maintaining and enhancing the system of internal controls for the business.
· To lead on the annual planning process for HQ costs working closely with the FP&A manager on timelines.
· To assist with strategic business projects and provide ad hoc support for the Finance Manager – Management Accounts (including but not limited to the implementation of the new general ledger system and the rationalisation of our legal entity structure.
Qualifications:
· A qualified Accountant (preferable)
· Strong management accounts background with FP&A experience preferrable
· A good communicator
· Pro-active and has a ‘can-do’ attitude
· Strong attention to detail essential
